Cleveland Heights boasts over 135 acres of beautiful parkland and excellent recreational facilities.

POLICIES AND REGULATIONS FOR CITY PARKS:

The City of Cleveland Heights has six parks - Cain Park, Caledonia Park, Cumberland Park, Denison Park, the Euclid Heights Tot Lot and Forest Hill Park - that feature countless amenities for residents to enjoy. All city parks are open from 6:00 am to sunset, except for City-sanctioned events. The following list features prohibited activities (per City Ordinance #923) that pertain to each park:
  1. No driving or parking on park pathways or grass
  2. No two-wheel motor vehicles
  3. No alcoholic beverages
  4. No loud music
  5. No dogs
  6. No golfing
  7. No gambling

Thanks to the voters' passage of the 1997 Recreation Bond Issue, Cleveland Heights residents have a state-of-the-art recreation complex. The Cleveland Heights Community Center contains the following:
  1. Year-round, Olympic-size ice rink, called the North Rink
  2. South Ice Rink (ice for six months, used as a summer field house for six months)
  3. Field House/Fitness Center
  4. Senior Activity Center
  5. Summer Day Camp
  6. Meeting and General Recreation program rooms
  7. Rooms for rentals and special events
Ice Skating
Beautiful views and lots of fun are guaranteed at the Community Center's Olympic-size North ice rink. The Center's two-rink schedule enables us to offer the following programs:
  1. Learn-to-Skate lessons, taught after school, in the evenings and on weekends
  2. Adaptive Skating
  3. Adult Public Sessions
  4. Speed Skating and Synchronized Skating
  5. Lessons two days a week for home-schooled students
  6. Ice Hockey for Youth (Cleveland Heights Hockey League) - Travel, Tots, Instructional, Recreational, Girls and Elementary School Programs
  7. Men's and Women's Hockey
  8. Sled Hockey
  9. Figure Skating (The Pavilion Skating Club) Freestyle and Dance - on ice and off-ice programs
  10. A variety of special events
Field House/Fitness Center
We hope our residents will make the Community Center part of their recreation and fitness routine! Here's what the facility contains:
  1. Two high school-size (50' x 84') gyms, side-by-side, with wooden floors; bleachers; scoreboards; glass backboards with break-away rims for both full court and side court play; ample padding for safety; and flexibility for basketball and volleyball use, as well as other programs
  2. A four-lane elevated track, featuring a rubberized, user-friendly surface (a length of 180 yards or nine laps to the mile); and a scenic view of our South Rink/Field House, gym, fitness area and nearby Cumberland Park
  3. A Fitness Center, featuring Nautilus exercise machines for upper and lower body; aerobic machines, including tread mills, elliptical machines, recumbent and upright bikes, and a step machine; a cardio theater system, with televisions and audio equipment to watch or listen as you exercise; and an aerobics room with a wooden floor

Purchase Recreation ID cards ($5.00 for all Cleveland Heights residents except preschoolers) and annual passes; register for programs and activities; and pay Field House admission fees. Purchase trash and recycling bags; register to vote.
