CH-UH Adult Basic and Literacy Education Program
The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Adult
Basic and Literacy Education Program (ABLE)
offers classes for for brushing up on reading,
writing, math or working on a GED. Classes are
offered in a classroom format, as well as small
group, one-on-one or self-directed instruction.
Each level builds to next skill level. All five GED
subject areas – Language Arts, Writing, Social
Studies, Science, Reading and Math – are
covered.
Students in
upper level classes will tke the Official GED
Practice Test at the end of the quarter or
whenever ready, based on instructor
input.
The orientation process is completed in two or
three sessions. During this time, the student will
be given a skills inventory in the areas of math,
reading and language. Students will meet
one-on-one with an instructor who will work with
them
on goal setting, and detailing what areas need
review.
Classes are offered during the daytime and
evenings almost year-round. Most classes meet
two times a week.
