Cedar Fairmount Transportation & Streetscape
Study
The Cedar Fairmount Transportation and
Streetscape Plan has been completed. In 2007,
the City of Cleveland Heights was awarded a
$75,000 Transportation for Liveable Communities
Initiative Grant (TLCI) from the Northeast Ohio
Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) .
Community Development Block Grant funds
provided the required match of $18,750. Among
the objectives was to determine the best
configuration of the City's rights-of-way for
motorized vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic
in the Cedar Fairmount district; to create a
conceptual streetscape design; to study ways to
improve the connection from the District to the
Cedar-University Circle rapid station and to
University Circle; and to determine how to best
solve transportation issues related to possible
new development. The City contracted with City
Architecture and Michael Baker, Jr., Inc. to
conduct this study. Three public meetings were
held to share information and receive comments.
