Over the years, groups in Cleveland Heights have “adopted” public places with plantings and attention to beautify the space. The City is encouraging individual residents, street clubs, community organizations, scouting groups and businesses to become involved in improving our city through the Adopt-a-Space Program. The purpose of the program is to build community spirit and a sense of civic responsibility, and at the same time, beautify our community.
Adopting a place can take on many forms, such as maintenance assistance in the form of general clean-up, like litter removal, weeding or minor planting (flower, replacement shrubbery). Perhaps a group will want to tackle litter with clean-up days in certain areas a couple times a year.
